OREANDA-NEWS. Motor plant Ford Sollers in Yelabuga has produced the 25-thousandth engine since the company's launch in September 2015. Investments in the construction of the Ford Sollers factory for the production of engines were 275 million dollars.

According to the press service of Ford Sollers, at present time Russian gasoline engines are installed at three models of Ford, which are manufactured at the plants in Naberezhnye Chelny and Vsevolozhsk: the subcompact crossover Ford EcoSport received a 1.6 liter Duratec engine with a power of 122 hp, the new Ford Fiesta in versions of the sedan and hatchback - engines rated at 85, 105 and 120 hp, and the new Ford Focus 1.6 L Duratec with 85, 105 and 125 hp.

As part of the long-term strategy to localize Ford Sollers from the start of production, the engines, produced in Yelabuga, receive all the main components from Russian suppliers, and they are produced from local raw materials. Since 2015, Ford Sollers is buying the castings of crankshafts, castings of cylinder blocks and cylinder heads, main bearing caps, spark plugs, produced from domestic raw materials, and since 2016 - pistons from Russian raw materials, conveyor oil for all engines produced at the plant in Yelabuga. In the future, the list of localized components will be replenished with other aluminum components, as well as fasteners and wires.
