OREANDA-NEWS. Russian dealers of KIA in 2016 sold 149 567 cars - less by 8.5% than a year before. As a result, according to preliminary statistics, KIA managed to keep the leadership in terms of sales among all foreign brands represented in Russia - as well as in 2014 and 2015. The market share of the brand was 10.5% in the last year, which is 0.3% more than in 2015, and by 2.6% more compared to 2014, the press service of KIA Motors Rus.

KIA bestseller in the Russian market is Rio - 87 662 of these cars were sold in 2016 (-9.7%). Also in the top-three of the most popular models there are KIA Sportage crossover (19003 units, -8.4%), the new generation of which entered the Russian market in April of the last year, and KIA cee'd (15081 units, -21.7%).

Several models of KIA by the results of 2016 entered the top-three of the most popular in their market segments. These results were demonstrated by Picanto, Rio, cee'd, Sportage and Optima. For business sedan KIA Optima, the fourth generation of which was presented in Russia from March of 2016, the last year was a record year by sales for the whole history of the model in Russia. The volume reached 6286 vehicles (+ 103%), among which 5812 were sedans of the new generation. The positive dynamics in 2016 was also demonstrated by crossovers and SUVs KIA Sorento Prime (3386 units, + 316%), KIA Mohave (573 units, + 86%) and KIA Soul (7334 units, + 22%).

"In 2017 we will continue to update the model range for strengthening the position of the brand in Russia. In February KIA dealers in Russia will begin to take orders for the new KIA Soul, it will be upgraded the frame SUV KIA Mohave in the first half.
