OREANDA-NEWS. June 25, 2012. Director General of UNESCO Irina Bokova highly appreciated the significant successes achieved within the bilateral partnership with Turkmenistan, “in particular in promoting the work on preserving and increasing the cultural heritage”, underlines Irina Bokova in her letter noting that the fundamental position of the President of Turkmenistan in supporting the UNESCO ideals offers a powerful incentive for promoting the global goals.

“I recall your visit to the UNESCO Headquarters in February 2010 with great pleasure. This visit laid the foundation for enhancing bilateral cooperation between Turkmenistan and UNESCO”, says the Director General of UNESCO in her address.

“Our bilateral cooperation has great potential for development that will be implemented due to your adherence to establishing closer, more dynamic collaboration with authoritative international organisations, in particular with the United Nations Organisation and its agencies”, underlines Irina Bokova. “Indeed, the determination you use carrying out the reforms aimed at improving the quality of education, preserving material and intangible cultural heritage along with your understanding of the necessity of efficient and sustainable management of water resources in Turkmenistan and the Central Asian region in general, has defined the way for comprehensive cooperation, and UNESCO is ready to further develop it”.
