OREANDA-NEWS. OMZ-Uralmash, a division of OMZ (Uralmash-Izhora Group) (RTS: OMZZ; LSE: OMZD; OTC: UHMVY), has begun forming its newest commercial storage terminal by reorganizing and re-equipping existing Uralmashzavod storage facilities in Yekaterinburg. The new terminal is expected to render services not only to OMZ companies but also to outside customers in Yekaterinburg where Uralmashzavod is located. The project is scheduled for completion in May 2007.

According to the press service of OMZ, the Uralmashzavod Transportation Directorate already renders logistics services to various organizations, including the consignment and forwarding of containers and rail cars, customs registration of goods, monitoring of cargo location in Russia and the CIS, packaging services, and freight car weighing.

From 2007 customers will be offered a full range of logistics services, and any Yekaterinburg company will be able to order these services at the Uralmashzavod transportation directorate.

Uralmashzavod storage facilities incorporate about 80,000 square meters and include both open and covered warehouses with railroad and automotive approach routes. The company has its own vehicle fleet and diesel-locomotive shunters. The transport of out-of-gage loads, containers, heavy wheel and track vehicles, metal rolled products and timber products is being handled by the Uralmashzavod transportation directorate throughout Russia, from the Far East to the Baltic ports.
