OREANDA-NEWS. The International Iron and Steel Institute has published the data according to which the world production of crude steel in February 2007 has made 99 million 13 thousand tons that exceeded parameters of February 2006 at the rate of 91 million 183 thousand tons by 8,6%.

Asia produced 54 million 133 thousand tons of steel (13,6%), China made 36 million 135 thousand tons (20,1%). In Japan production has made 9 million 200 thousand tons (3,6%).

Production in 27 EU countries for February 2007 made 16 million 597 thousand tons of crude steel (2,9%).

Crude steel production in the CIS countries totalled 9 million 640 thousand tons (11,5%).

Northern America produced 9 million 451 thousand tons of steel (-8,6%). In the USA output has made 7 million 100 thousand tons (-8%).

South America made 3 million 608 thousand tons (10,4%).

Africa produced 1 million 461 thousand tons of steel (10,4%).

In the Near East production totalled 1 million 186 thousand tons (1,7%).
