OREANDA-NEWS. HSE’s progress in the global rankings in 2017 can also be seen in the QS BRICS regional ranking, where HSE is now 39th among all universities, moving up 23 positions as compared to last year.

HSE has progressed primarily in the categories of employer reputation (rising from 62nd in 2016 to 34th in 2017) and share of international students (from 40.4 to 66.3 points).

This year, the ranking includes 68 Russian universities, which is more than last year. The number of Russian universities in the Top 50 and Top 100 has also grown. Twenty-five Russian universities are in the Top 100 this year, with 15 of them being participants in Project 5-100.

QS BRICS evaluates universities on academic reputation, reputation among potential employers, publication activity, international faculty and international student ratios, and student-to-faculty ratios. In fact, QS BRICS serves as a projection of the global university ranking in the region.

The QS BRICS ranking was first compiled in 2013. This year, the QS team has expanded the list, which now includes approximately 300 of the best universities in Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa .
