OREANDA-NEWS. S&P Global Ratings raised its underlying rating (SPUR) to 'AA' from 'AA-' on Brighton, Colo.'s water activity enterprise revenue bonds. At the same time, S&P Global Ratings assigned its 'AA' long-term rating to the city's series 2016A and 2016B water activity enterprise revenue refunding bonds. The outlook is stable.

"The raised ratings are based on the consistent growth in the city's liquidity and debt service coverage," said S&P Global Ratings credit analyst John Schulz.

The 2016A and 2016B bonds will be used to refund the city's outstanding bonds for economic savings.
