OREANDA-NEWS Belarus expects to attract the receive loan of Russia in the amount of $1 billion in 2019. The purpose is to refinance payments on external debt. "The work is underway, rather constructive interaction. We do not dramatize, but there are questions, and we answer them,"— said the first vise-Prime Minister of Belarus Vasily Matyushevsky.

As Mr. Matyushevsky said, payments on external debt will amount to $ 3.7 billion. "For us, the ideal was is the repayment of 50%, refinancing-50%. Our strategy is not to increase the national debt, " he commented the situation with the loan.

According to this information, next year Belarus should pay 3.7 billion dollars on foreign obligations, 50 percent of payments on foreign debt is planned to be refinanced. Belarus also plans to raise funds from the placement of bonds in the Chinese market and the domestic market.

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has previously accused Russia of unfair competition within the Eurasian Economic Union. He was sure, that the Russian side does not fulfill its obligations.

In September 2017, Moscow provided Minsk with an interstate loan of $ 700 million. The loan was granted in Russian rubles.

Earlier, different sources informed that Russia intends to suspend the issuance of a loan to Belarus for $1 billion. Russian Federation wall limit duty-free supplies of petroleum products and liquefied gas. The transfer of funds was suspended due to "new disagreements between Russia and Belarus on oil and gas."   Later, the Russian Ministry of Finance denied the suspension of lending to Belarus.

The governmental debt of Belarus to Russia granted is $6.3 billion in May, 2018 year. This is stated in the relevant documents. According to the results of 2017 year, the national debt of Belarus reached its maximum. Its size was 40.4% of GDP. At the same time, the government is attracting new loans from abroad.
