OREANDA-NEWS Several reputable media outlets have stated that the Central African Republic has become the second country in the world and the first in Africa to legalize Bitcoin (BTC) as a means of payment. According to the information, the bill was approved in the state parliament on April 21, 2022.

According to the authorities, the adoption of BTC as a legal tender will optimize the country's infrastructure, as well as provide an opportunity for the introduction of blockchain technology in various sectors of the economy. In other words, any calculations can be made using BTC, perhaps, as it was in El Salvador, the authorities will launch their own wallet and provide businesses that will use BTC with some discounts.

This news was also reported by several well-known representatives of the crypto industry, including the CEO of Binance. It is worth noting that the Central African Republic does not have its own state currency, the country uses the Central African CFA Franc, which is used by six countries at once: Gabon, Chad, Equatorial Guinea, the Central African Republic, the Republic of the Congo and Cameroon.
