OREANDA-NEWS The head of Disney Studios assessed the losses incurred by the company after the merger with Fox.

According to Robert Iger, this amount reached $170 million. In the course of the proceedings, it was revealed that huge monetary losses were associated with part of the Fox studio projects, which automatically passed to them after its purchase.

It is noted that their main failure was Simon Kinberg's film "X-Men: The Dark Phoenix." He appeared on large screens in early summer. Cash collection tape exceeded the initial budget of the project by only 52 million dollars. The bad results after the release of the rental also showed the comedies “Stuber” and “The Kid Who Would Be King”.

After analyzing the situation, Iger said that Disney will have to reduce Fox production in the near future. Whether this measure will be temporary or not is still unknown. At the moment, the studio plans to produce about 10 films a year. Most of them will be created for the Disney+ streaming service.
