OREANDA-NEWS The French company Thales Group which provided payment protection and PIN code checking on the cards for 20 Russian banks decided to leave Russia, Forbes reported citing a company representative, Gazeta.ru reported.

It is noted that Thales ceases to provide digital security in the Russian banking sector. The company supplied hardware security modules of payment systems.

Among them payShield 9000 - devices designed for ATMs that protect and encrypt user data. The module protects not only PIN verification, but also payment transactions, bank card issuance and encryption keys.

According to the Thales distributor, payShield 9000 is the most popular payment system protection module in the world, accounting for more than 80% of global payment card transactions.

Earlier it was reported that American companies Cisco and IBM refused to renew licenses for previously purchased equipment for Russian companies.
