OREANDA-NEWS. The Nord Stream 2 project is fully funded, and Gazprom is not going to raise additional funds for the project, said Famil Sadigov, deputy chairman of the Gazprom board.

At the same time, in the future, Gazprom will be able to place bonds for this project.

"The project is fully funded to complete the investment stage and move to the operation stage," Sadigov explained.

In the future, there will be "an opportunity to attract debt financing. But this is a distant future," emphasized the deputy chairman of the board of Gazprom.

President Vladimir Putin said at SPIEF-2021 that pipe-laying of the first string of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline has been completed, work on the second string will be completed in the next two months, and Gazprom is ready to fill Nord Stream 2 with gas.

Russia is ready to carry out such high-tech projects with European and other partners, the President stressed.

"Why do you think our partners are fighting for Nord Stream 2 like this? To do something nice for us? They are fighting for their national interests. That's what they are fighting for," Putin stressed.

it was reported that the price of Gazprom shares has renewed its maximum since 2008 after the announcement of Russian President Vladimir Putin that the first string of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline is ready to be filled with gas.
