OREANDA-NEWSThe Ukrainian government has transferred over 500 state-owned enterprises for privatization, the total book value of which is 12 billion hryvnias (about $ 500 million). This was announced on Friday by Prime Minister Alexei Goncharuk. "The government has transferred 530 state-owned enterprises for privatization. In almost four months, more government entities have been transferred for privatization than in all 28 years of independence", he wrote on the Telegram channel.

According to the prime minister, this will help attract investment in a number of state enterprises and increase wages to employees. Goncharuk noted that the total book value of the assets proposed for privatization is more than 12 billion hryvnias (about $ 500 million) and added that transparent auctions through Prozorro.Sales will begin in 2020.

In early September, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky set the task of launching a large-scale privatization process in the country and instructed by December 1 to transfer at least 500 enterprises to the State Property Fund for small privatization. The first competition for the sale of large state-owned companies should be held no later than April 1, 2020.
