OREANDA-NEWS. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is confident that Western countries should increase economic pressure against Russia. It is reported by TASS with reference to the LBC radio station.

According to the British politician, states need to develop measures to prevent the Russian Federation from using its gold reserve.

“We need to do more. More economically. Can we, for example, do more to prevent him [Russian President Vladimir Putin] from using not only the foreign exchange, but also the gold reserve?” Johnson emphasized.

Also, the British Prime Minister intends to "see soon" with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Now Johnson and the head of the Ukrainian state have telephone conversations.

Earlier it became known that the United States on Thursday, March 24, will announce a new package of sanctions against Russia.
