OREANDA-NEWSNaftogaz Ukrainy will file updated lawsuits against the Russian Federation on Crimean assets, and a decision on it is expected at the end of this year or in 2021. This was stated by the executive director of the company Yuri Vitrenko.

"We are now filing updated lawsuits against Russia [to the International Tribunal at the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague] for the loss of the ability to use our property in Crimea. And there is a large amount of claims - $ 5 billion without interest. But with interest, it's already more than $ 7 billion", he said in an interview with Ukrainian media. The decision of the tribunal, according to Vitrenko, is expected "at the end of 2020 or 2021".

In September 2017, Naftogaz filed a lawsuit against the Russian Federation at the International Tribunal, demanding compensation for losses in connection with the loss of assets in the Crimea. The list of valued property includes production assets of the Chernomorneftegaz subsidiary, gas in an underground storage facility in Crimea, as well as assets of other Naftogaz subsidiaries.

In total, Ukrainian companies and entrepreneurs filed eight lawsuits to protect investments in Crimea. In addition to Naftogaz, it is Ukrnafta, Oschadbank, Lugzor, Stabil, Everest, Privatbank and businessman Igor Kolomoisky.
