OREANDA-NEWS Russia and Azerbaijan signed a joint statement on priority areas of economic cooperation.

The document was signed during conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Azerbaijani leader Ilham Aliyev.

"Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin and the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a joint statement on the priorities of economic cooperation between Russia and Azerbaijan", — said during the ceremony.

In particular, the joint statement says that the leaders of the two countries need to pay attention to the creation of the most favorable conditions in trade for the development of mutually beneficial trade, economic and investment cooperation.

Purpose are also includes increasing the transit and transport potential in the Russian-Azerbaijani sections of international transport corridors using the technologies of intelligent transport systems, as well as the creation of joint ventures in promising sectors of national economies and exports for their diversification and solving problems in the field of innovative development.

In addition, special attention is paid to the development of cooperation on the introduction of innovative approaches in the field of public administration. It is include modern digital technologies in the fiscal sphere, the exchange of experience and cooperation on the use of advanced software for use in the public sector, as well as to the expansion of cooperation in the humanitarian fields, including youth policy, education, sports and tourism.

"The two presidents are convinced that the implementation of the signed during the official visit of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Russian Federation of an action plan for developing key areas of Russian-Azerbaijani cooperation for the period up to 2024.
