OREANDA-NEWS. The government has so far abandoned plans to implement urgent measures to stabilize exchange prices for fuel, including a ban on its export, Kommersant reports, citing sources.

On the eve of Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak held a meeting with oil companies, during which the state of affairs in the fuel market was considered. According to the newspaper, the Ministry of Energy proposed to urgently introduce a ban on the export of gasoline and sign agreements with fuel companies by the end of this month.

According to one of Kommersant's sources, it was decided to abandon such steps, among other things, due to the decline in world oil prices, as well as because of the assurances of oil workers about the growth of supply on the exchange.

Following the meeting, fuel companies were again advised to increase gasoline sales on the exchange, the newspaper writes.

Earlier on Monday, it was reported that prices for gasoline and diesel fuel in Moscow increased by 11-16 kopecks over the week from August 2 to 9, while AI-98 gasoline rose the most. A week earlier, over the period from July 26 to August 2, prices increased by 5-15 kopecks.

From the beginning of this year to mid-July, fuel prices have risen quite significantly, exceeding the figure for the entire 2020. AI-92 gasoline in the country as a whole has risen in price by five percent. Gasoline prices have increased in almost all regions. Growth rates above the all-Russian level were recorded in 35 regions.
