OREANDA-NEWS. The World Bank has invited Russian business to present their startups, which will strengthen the bank's involvement in Russian projects. This was announced by the Executive Director of the Bank from the Russian Federation Roman Marshavin, speaking at a panel discussion of the Russia-Africa Economic Forum.

According to him, such an agreement was reached between the head of the Ministry of Economic Development Maxim Oreshkin and WB managing director David Malpass during the visit of the Russian minister to Washington last week. “We agreed to involve Russian business in World Bank projects more. We plan to hold a round table during the meeting of the bank’s governing bodies in spring, bring Russian companies there that will offer their best practices in various fields, including fintech, energy, healthcare and others”, said Marshavin.

The World Bank today published the annual Doing Business ranking, in which Russia climbed three steps over the year and took 28th place among 190 countries. In last year’s ranking, Russia was in 31st position.
