Earlier, the Central Bank revealed a new scheme of fraud with financial pyramids.
Director of the Department of the Central Bank of Russia for Combating Unfair Practices Valery Lyakh said that lately cryptocurrencies have been actively used to create pyramids. For example, in cryptocurrency, they accept funds from depositors and promise further payments in it.
Earlier, the Director of the Department of the Central Bank of Russia for Combating Unfair Practices, Valery Lyakh, spoke about new “legends” that fraudsters use to involve citizens in financial pyramids.
“One of the new trends has been the creation by the organizers of the financial pyramids of many small-scale “projects” that operate for a short time and with a relatively insignificant “entry fee” for the participants,” he said on Sputnik radio.
Lyakh noted that the attackers expect that deceived people will not apply to law enforcement agencies because of small financial losses.
