OREANDA-NEWS. Access to the wallet with digital rubles will be possible through different financial intermediaries - this will help fight "payment slavery" when customer service is tied to one credit institution. This advantage was announced by Ivan Zimin, Director of the Financial Technologies Department of the Bank of Russia.

Zimin, speaking at an expanded meeting of the RSPP Commission on Banks and Banking, said: "Access to a digital wallet can be carried out through different financial intermediaries - that is, of course, an organization, an individual or a legal entity will not be tied only to that credit institution, which initially opened his wallet. When passing certain identification procedures, when accepting for service, it will be possible to get into your own wallet, but through another organization. "

"In our opinion, this really increases accessibility, reduces, let's call it," payment slavery ", when many clients are tied to the structure of one organization and cannot receive a full range of services and move to other institutions," he added.

The Bank of Russia presented the idea of the digital ruble in mid-October last year. It is assumed that it will be in the form of a unique digital code, which is stored in a special electronic wallet, and will be a full-fledged means of payment along with a regular ruble. The concept of the digital ruble is planned to be presented to the public in April this year.

Experts also believe that the use of digital currencies of central banks of different countries, including the digital ruble, as well as decentralized cryptocurrencies, will allow Russia to find itself from the dollar in international settlements and reduce its dependence on the international payment system SWIFT.
