OREANDA-NEWS The Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation has proposed to reduce more than 1.6 trillion rubles of expenditures from the budget under state programs in 2023-2025.

The Ministry of Finance proposed to reduce budget expenditures aimed at implementing state programs by 557 billion rubles in 2023, by 539 billion rubles in 2024 and by 534 billion rubles in 2025.

It is noted that most of the expenses are planned to be removed from the state programs "Development of the transport system" - 390 billion rubles for the period from 2023 to 2025, about 150 billion over the next three years from the state program "Scientific and Technological Development" and 120 billion rubles from the program "Ensuring the country's defense capability" for the same period.

A representative of the ministry told the newspaper that based on the total amount of withdrawn expenses, the curator of the state program should independently determine the expenses that need to be waived. He also added that such a decision was made in order to prioritize budget expenditures and concentrate the remaining funds on the most important areas.
