OREANDA-NEWS. The number of bankruptcies of individuals in Russia in the first half of this year increased by 1.8 times or by 80%. This is reported by PRIME with reference to the data of the GRM consulting company.

Thus, the number of bankruptcy cases since the beginning of the year amounted to 105.9 thousand, a year earlier this figure was 58.7 thousand, and two years ago — 39 thousand. Analysts believe that in general, the total number of bankruptcy procedures of individuals will grow by 65-70% over the current year.

GRM partner Sergey Novikov explained that the growth of bankrupts is associated with a deterioration in the solvency of the population due to the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic, a change in society's attitude to the bankruptcy procedure and the end of the bankruptcy moratorium.

«Of course, such growth was influenced by negative factors associated with the crisis phenomena in the country's economy during the pandemic», Novikov said.
