OREANDA-NEWSThe positive balance of Russia's foreign trade in January - February 2020 amounted to $ 24.9 billion, which is 25% (or $ 9.3 billion) less than the same indicator for 2019. This is stated in the materials of the Federal Customs Service (FCS) of the Russian Federation.

The export of goods in the reporting period amounted to $ 59.2 billion and in annual terms decreased by 12.7%. Import volume grew by 1.9%, reaching $ 34.3 billion. Thus, the foreign trade turnover of the Russian Federation decreased by 7.9%, to $ 93.5 billion.

The basis of Russian exports in January - February 2020 was traditionally fuel and energy products, the share of which in the commodity structure of exports amounted to 63.4% (for two months of 2019 - 67%). In the commodity structure of imports, the largest share accounted for machinery and equipment - 45.3% (a year earlier - 43.3%).

The European Union occupies a leading position in the country structure of Russia's foreign trade, in January - February 2020 it accounted for 41.3% of Russian goods turnover (43.8% in January - February 2019), and 33.5% for APEC countries (30.9%), to the CIS countries - 11.3% (11.4%), to the EAEU countries - 8.2% (8%).
