OREANDA-NEWS. Rosneft, Gazprom, Russian Post and the Moscow Renovation Fund were among the largest Russian companies in terms of cash and cash equivalents accumulated in their accounts at the end of 2018. This is evidenced by the financial statements published by Rosstat and the companies themselves, which were analyzed by the Russian media. The top 10 richest companies (excluding banks) have accumulated about 3.4 trillion rubles.

If we add banks (which have a different business model - they usually need more money, including to maintain reserves), then the first three will be the largest state-owned banks - Sberbank, Gazprombank and VTB. Taking into account credit organizations, the accumulation of the top ten is about 7.5 trillion rubles.

Sberbank reported on the largest account balances. Its IFRS consolidated financial statements state that at the end of 2018, 2.33 trillion rubles remained in its accounts. Gazprombank ranks second in this indicator: its balances are 1.05 trillion rubles. VTB Bank - in third place, its accumulation in money and equivalents amounted to 929.3 billion rubles at the end of the year.
