OREANDA-NEWSThe volume of investments of US companies participating in the Indo-Pacific Business Forum in Bangkok on November 4 is more than $ 1.9 trillion. This is stated in a press release issued by the State Department on Sunday evening. The American delegation at the conference will be led by Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross.

"The business forum will demonstrate high investment standards. The conference will bring together more than a thousand representatives of US government and regional governments", the text says. "The forum aims to promote high standards of investment, transparency, the rule of law and the leading role of the private sector in economic development".

“The total annual income of companies representing the United States at the conference is more than $ 2.8 trillion”, the agency noted. “The volume of trade and services between these companies and the countries of the region reaches $ 1.9 trillion per year, making the United States the largest source of direct investment in region". The East Asian Summit opens in Bangkok on Monday.
