OREANDA-NEWS. Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo tested positive for coronavirus. The striker went into self-isolation. It is known that the 35-year-old athlete bears the disease without symptoms.

“Cristiano Ronaldo was dismissed from the national team after testing positive for COVID-19, so he will not play in the national team match against Sweden,” the Portuguese Football Federation informed in a statement. Portugal will play against Sweden in the UEFA Nations League on October 14.

On October 11, Ronaldo played all 90 minutes in the Nations League match with the French team, which took place in Saint-Denis in the northern suburbs of Paris and ended with a score of 0:0.

A few days ago, several cases of COVID-19 were registered at the Italian football club Juventus, where Ronaldo plays, as well as in the Portuguese national team.
