OREANDA-NEWS. Leopoldo Luque, personal physician of famous Argentine football player Diego Maradona, has responded to the charges of his client’s manslaughter.

Earlier, the TV channel Todo Noticias reported that Luque was suspected of manslaughter and refusal to provide assistance to the patient. The investigation against him was launched on the basis of the testimony of Maradona’s daughters, who questioned the doctor’s actions.

“These are legal procedures that I do not know about and do not intend to question. I am at the disposal of the judge,” the newspaper Nacion quotes Luque. “I know what I did and how I did it with Diego. Prosecutors did something that no one expected. This is their job, and I respect it. We gave them all the information they asked for,” he added.

Diego Maradona passed away on November 25 at the age of 60 due to heart failure. Argentine President Alberto Fernandez has declared three days of nationwide mourning.
