OREANDA-NEWS. The former head coach of Spartak Moscow, Domenico Tedesco, will soon head the German Leipzig. According to Sky Sport Germany, a specialist will replace American Jesse Marsh, who was fired on December 5. At the same time, the portal does not specify when exactly Tedesco will sign an agreement with Leipzig, and for what period it will be calculated.

Marsh was appointed head coach of Leipzig in July 2021, replacing Julian Nagelsmann in this position. Under his leadership, the German team played 21 matches, in which it won eight victories, drew four times and lost nine times. After 14 rounds, the silver medalist of last season's Bundesliga with 18 points takes 11th place in the standings, lagging behind the leading Bayern by 16 points.

Tedesco is known for working with the youth teams of Schalke and Hoffenheim, as well as the adult teams of Erzgebirge and Schalke. In October 2019, he headed Spartak, which led to the silver medals of the Russian Championship in the 2020/21 season.
