OREANDA-NEWS. German coach and head of the Olympic Center for Artistic Gymnastics Gabriela Frese was dismissed from her post after receiving complaints of harsh treatment and insults against her charges. She is also accused of giving medications to gymnasts without a doctor's prescription.

In total, ten athletes complained about the coach, including the 2017 world champion Paulina Schaefer, AP reports. In connection with the accusations of "intimidation and bullying", the German Gymnastics Union has initiated an investigation. As a result, evidence was found of 17 cases of violence by Frese.

The coach, who has been in her position for over 30 years, denied all charges. However, the union's board decided to fire her. Frese disagrees with the decision and intends to appeal the charge in court. She intends to continue working as a coach.
