The most anticipated event of the evening was the fight between Kazakhstani Gennady Golovkin (40-1-1, 35 KOs) and Pole Kamil Sheremeta (21-0, 5 KOs) for the titles of the world champion by versions IBF and IBO middleweight champion, Vesti.kz correspondent reports. The fight was calculated for 12 rounds. From the starting bell, the challenger rushed into the battle and tried to occupy the center of the ring. However, after several missed jabs from Golovkin, the Pole's ardor cooled down later. In the very ending with the gong, the Kazakhstani completely knocked down his opponent.

Thus, Golovkin successfully defended his title for the 21st time and broke the record of the legendary Bernard Hopkins. Prior to this fight, both had 20 victorious fights each in champion status - this is a divisional record. The American did this between 1995 and 2005, and it took GGG two years less to repeat this achievement (2010-2018).
