OREANDA-NEWS Russian President Vladimir Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov told RT that the Kremlin is pleased with the decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to allow Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva to participate in a personal tournament at the Beijing Olympics.

Earlier it became known that the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) rejected the appeals of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the International Skating Union (ISU) against the decision of the RUSADA disciplinary committee to lift the suspension from Valieva, the Russian will be able to compete in a personal tournament at the 2022 Olympics.

- The Kremlin is glad that Valiyeva will be able to continue participating in competitions in Beijing. The whole of Russia wishes the figure skater a victory at the Olympics," Peskov said.

On Monday, Valieva went to a training session in Beijing, performing a run of the short program. Among its technical elements were the triple axel, triple flip-triple toe loop and triple lutz-triple toe loop.

Earlier it became known that the IOC executive committee decided not to hold an award ceremony for the winners of the figure skaters team tournament at the Beijing Olympics, the organization's website informs. The ceremony was postponed on February 8 due to the revealed positive test of Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva.
