OREANDA-NEWS. The Los Angeles Lakers leader LeBron James received his first suspension in the National Basketball Association. The 36-year-old forward will miss one regular-season game due to a scuffle in Monday night's game against the Detroit Pistons (121-116), according to the NBA press office.

Players engaged in a massive scuffle in the third quarter of the National Basketball Association (NBA) regular season game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Detroit Pistons.

Lakers' leader LeBron James elbowed Detroit forward Isaiah Stewart in the face while struggling for the ball during a free throw early in the third quarter, followed by a scuffle. As a result, both players were suspended for the rest of the game.

The game ended with a win for the Lakers, snapping their three-game losing streak. Detroit forward Jerami Grant (36) was the top-scorer in the game. Anthony Davis (30) was the top marksman for the Lakers.

Stewart, 20, was subsequently suspended for two games due to the escalating conflict. James will miss the game against New York (November 23), while Stewart will miss games against Miami (November 23) and Milwaukee (November 24).

James made his NBA debut in 2003. He is a four-time NBA champion, four-time regular season Player of the Year and Most Valuable Player of the Final Playoff Series. Stewart made his NBA debut in 2020 and has no titles.
