OREANDA-NEWS. Inside The Games website reports that an independent audit revealed a lack of resources in the Intelligence and Investigations Department of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).

According to the publication, the lack of staff could affect the activities of the unit. “Given the available means, there is still a risk, as pointed out last year, that the department (and through it, WADA) could be criticized for choosing and executing on its objectives arbitrarily,” the report says.

It is also noted that shortcomings in the activities of the WADA department could already be eliminated, since the audit was conducted in April of 2019, and its findings were published in August.

WADA agreed with the conclusion of the independent auditor. It is known that the organization plans to take the necessary measures in the near future.
