OREANDA-NEWS. The Hockey Diversity Alliance, which fights against racism in the National Hockey League (NHL), has made a number of requests to the League’s leadership.

As the TSN journalist Rick Westhead noted on his Twitter page, the Alliance would like to receive from the League 100 million US dollars to fund anti-racist initiatives over ten years, which will cost each team about 312.5 thousand dollars per year.

In addition, the organization is asking for its logo to be applied to the ice of rinks in the NHL and to temporarily change the colour of the blue line to black.

The Alliance also gave the NHL the task of increasing the representation of blacks in the League’s leadership, as well as in the staff of ordinary employees.

The League has not yet commented on these initiatives.
