Ronaldo Doubled the Record for the Number of Goals in Official Matches

The forward of the football club Juventus and the Portuguese national football team Cristiano Ronaldo in the match of the 17th round of the Italian championship against Sassuolo caught up with the Austrian and Czechoslovak striker Josef Bican in the number of goals scored in official matches.
The Portuguese player scored Juventus’ third goal in the second added minute of the second time. This goal became the 759th for the striker in official matches, thanks to which Ronaldo doubled Bican’s world record. Ronaldo reached this result in 1,037 games, while Bican needed to play 495 games. The third place in the ranking is occupied by the legendary Brazilian footballer Pele, who has scored 757 goals in official matches.
Before that, Argentine striker of Barcelona Lionel Messi beat Pele’s single-team goal record (644 versus 643). However, Brazilian club Santos considers that Pele had scored more goals in his professional football career.
