OREANDA-NEWS. Vitalina Batsarashkina brought the Russian team the tenth gold medal of the Olympic Games in Tokyo, winning the pistol shooting from 25 meters.

The Russian woman in the final shootout turned out to be more accurate than the Korean Kim Minjun. The bronze medal was won by the Chinese woman Xiao Jiaruixuan.

For Batsarashkina, this is already the second gold at the Games: earlier she won the competition in air pistol shooting at a distance of ten meters, and also became the silver medalist in the mixed doubles.

The Russian national team now has ten gold, twelve silver and nine bronze medals - this is the fourth place in the overall standings.

Batsarashkina's career developed very rapidly. Having started collecting medals at the youth level, the Russian woman at the age of 19 shot at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro - literally and figuratively. Then Batsarashkina won silver in the individual 10 meters, and in 2018 she brought a full collection of medals from the World Championship.

In Tokyo, the athlete was one of the favorites in the same discipline, which was confirmed in the qualification, where she became the third. In the final, Vitalina Batsarashkina briskly started, then lost ground, but still mastered her nerves and regained leadership, at the same time setting an Olympic record (240.3 points).
