OREANDA-NEWS  Kenyan athlete Ruth Chepengetich has set a new world record in a half marathon. This information is reported by RFI.

26-year-old athlete Ruth Chepenetić at the competition, which took place in Istanbul, covered the distance of 21 kilometers and 97.5 meters in 1 hour 4 minutes and 2 seconds. The previous achievement belonged to the athlete from Ethiopia Ababel Yeshan. In February last year, she ran a half marathon in 1 hour 4 minutes and 31 seconds, thereby setting a world record.

Ruth Chepengetich won gold at the 2019 World Championship in the marathon and became the silver medalist at the 2018 World Championship in the half marathon.

In September last year, Russian Sergei Agadzhanyan dragged the plane 35.4 meters and set national and world records. The athlete was pulling a CRJ 200 Bombardier airliner, weighing more than 16 tons.
