OREANDA-NEWS  As the press service of the regional government reports the Novosibirsk region will host the men's volleyball world championship in 2022. The decision has already been taken by the International Volleyball Federation. This was stated by the first deputy chairman of the State Duma, deputy from the Novosibirsk region, Alexander Zhukov.

He said: “Great news came from the International Volleyball Federation - it confirmed that in 2022 Russia will host the World Championship among men's teams”.

For this event, the largest Regional Volleyball Center beyond the Urals has already been built in Novosibirsk. The center was opened in October 2020. Earlier, the FIVB presented the logo of the Volleyball World Championship in Novosibirsk.

Earlier, in December, WADA made a decision that Russia cannot claim to host major international competitions. This threatened the carrying out of the World Championships in the country. However, the International Ice Hockey Federation refused to cancel the World Championship in Novosibirsk.
