OREANDA-NEWS. The official representative of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Mark Adams, on Thursday, February 10, during a briefing, commented on the topic of the doping test of the Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva, calling publications about this in the media speculation.

“You understand that I will not comment on rumors. Yes, a situation arose yesterday, but I will not comment on the legal details. A possible positive doping test is a rumor. <...> As for the ceremony and its cancellation, this is speculation, ”said the IOC representative.

According to the press attache of the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR) Olga Yermolina, Kamila Valieva will perform in individual competitions at the 2022 Winter Olympics.

“Kamila Valieva has not been suspended, there has been no statement,” she told Match TV.

Valieva participated in the team tournament as part of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) team, which won Olympic gold. However, the awards ceremony was postponed from Monday, February 7, to the next day, and then indefinitely. The award ceremony for Russian athletes was supposed to take place at 21:05 (16:05 Moscow time) local time on the medal square near the Bird's Nest stadium.

The reason for the postponement of the awards ceremony following the results of the team figure skating competition at the 2022 Olympics in Beijing was a situation that requires legal advice from the International Skating Union (ISU). This was announced on February 8 by the press service of the International Olympic Committee.

On February 10, the figure skater entered the training rink at the Capital Sports Palace in Beijing.
