OREANDA-NEWS. The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) does not intend to postpone the start of the European football championship scheduled for June 12 – July 12. This was announced by the press service of the organization.

Earlier, the Italian newspaper Tuttosport reported that UEFA was considering postponing the tournament to a later date in order to finish national championships suspended due to coronavirus outbreak. According to the publication, football associations of several countries requested for such a possibility.

UEFA claimed that at present, it does not plan to change the calendar of Euro 2020, which should be held in 12 European cities, and the tournament should start on June 12 in Rome. At the same time, the press service of the Union noted that this issue will be constantly monitored.
