OREANDA-NEWSThe Executive Committee of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) unanimously adopted the recommendation of the organization’s committee to deprive the Russian Anti-Doping Agency of its compliance with the World Anti-Doping Code. This was reported by the press service of WADA. "The recommendation of the compliance committee was unanimously approved", it was informed.

Thus, for four years Russia is deprived of the right to host the world championships and submit applications for their holding; the country's athletes won't be able to compete at the Olympics and world championships under the country's flag. The WADA Executive Committee also introduced a four-year ban on visiting international sporting events by Russian civil servants and the leadership of the Russian Olympic Committee and the Russian Paralympic Committee.

At the same time, WADA did not begin to introduce a complete ban on the participation of all Russian athletes in competitions. They still have the opportunity to play under a neutral flag, as was the case at the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympic Games.
