OREANDA-NEWS. Russia can speak at the Olympic Games, which will be held in 2020 in Tokyo, but in a neutral status. This recommendation was made by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) from the Compliance Committee (CRC). The relevant data is published on the WADA website.

At the same time, Russian athletes at the next Olympics will have to do without a national flag and anthem. These sanctions will apply to all major sporting events over the next four years. Also, for four years, Russia is prohibited from hosting international competitions. “If a decision has already been made to hold a tournament in Russia, then it should be reviewed”, the document says.

The Intelligence and Investigations Service (I & I) WADA and independent experts previously examined the database of the Moscow anti-doping laboratory, in which changes were detected. In WADA, they were called manipulations, and the Russian side provided explanations for the claims. Last week, the WADA committee recommended that the executive committee lose the compliance status with the Russian Anti-Doping Agency.
