OREANDA-NEWS. October 10, 2016. The CONOMUSE® business model is expanding and benefitting more Atlantic Canadian artisans, thanks to the work of the Atlantic Economuseum Corporation Inc. The organization is receiving funding from the Government of Canada to continue its work to help showcase artisans and their trades throughout Atlantic Canada by offering visitors an inside look at their craft.

During an event today, Seamus O’Regan, Member of Parliament for St. John’s South-Mount Pearl, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), announced an investment of \\$231,300 for this pan-Atlantic project through ACOA’s Business Development Program.

This project will enable the Atlantic Economuseum Corporation to support and promote Atlantic artisans, while subscribing to the overall guidance of the CONOMUSE® model of business. It will assist Atlantic Canadian artisans in developing approaches to engage and entertain visitors, take part in promotional activities with a like-minded artisanal peer group and increase their financial bottom line. This project focuses on promoting experiential cultural tourism and outreach activities that support sustainable economic development of artisans pursuing entrepreneurship.

This initiative builds on the Government of Canada’s commitment to drive economic growth in Atlantic Canada through tourism, as outlined in the recently announced Atlantic Growth Strategy.
