Dmitry Medvedev: I am glad to have an opportunity to meet with you again and exchange our impressions of the activity of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation and about bilateral relations between Russia and Afghanistan as well. We always meet during such events, which, I believe, is very useful. We are interested in the stable development of Afghanistan, our neighbour, on the basis of the principles that you have just mentioned in your remarks at our event.
Abdullah Abdullah (via interpreter): I want to thank you for the aid that Russia has been providing to Afghanistan over 15 years to help restore peace and stability in our country. The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation has its place on the international arena and it has a common enemy: terrorism. Our relations have been improving every year and our cooperation in the economic sphere has been particularly fruitful.
