OREANDA-NEWS. March 22, 2018. The US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) completed an environmental assessment for Transcontinental Gas pipeline's 190mn cf/d (5.4mn m?/d) Rivervale South to Market natural gas pipeline project.

FERC staff concluded that the project would not significantly affect the environment.

The project is designed to provide additional service to consumers in the northeast, including in New Jersey and in New York City, in time for the 2019-20 winter heating season. Direct Energy Business Marketing and UGI Energy Services have both contracted for firm transportation service on the expansion.

The expansion has a relatively small footprint, and includes less than 1 mile (2km) of new pipeline looping along Transco's mainline, upgrades to existing pipeline and valves and some new facilities including mainline valves.
