OREANDA-NEWS The Cabinet of Ministers approved the regulation on operation of the Register of wine at its meeting today, in order to record all plantations and units of wine in Moldova.

The draft Government decision stipulates that the Registry of wine will be managed by the National Office of Vine and Wine, where are registered operators performing at least one of activities of manufacturing, storage, wholesale of wines, products produced from young wine, wine production and marketing of the grapes used as a raw material in making wine.

The document sets out the requirement that the holders of units of vineyards and vineyard statements of harvest, wine production and are stipulated conditions for access to information stored in the Registry.

The register inclusion of wine is free and shall be based on applications submitted by businessmen and the self – declarations regarding mandatory registration requirements.

The register implementation has to be completed in September 2017. The expenses for making software, as well as for initial registration of lots and winery units, constitutes about $1 million and are covered from a grant provided by external partners.
