Meenan's Cove Boat Launch Gets Upgrade
Alaina Lockhart, Member of Parliament for Fundy Royal, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), joined His Worship Gary Clark, Mayor of the Town of Quispamsis and other officials today to make the announcement.
The project included the installation of new concrete ramps, regrading of the berms surrounding the launch, relocating existing wharves, reinforcing existing gangways, along with the purchase of two new gangways and a dock anchoring system and, paving of the gravel roadway.
The Government of Canada has invested \\$112,424 in the project through the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program (CIP 150) and the Town of Quispamsis provided \\$112,425.
CIP 150 is providing up to \\$300 million nationally over two years to support projects to rehabilitate, renovate and expand community and recreational infrastructure as part of the Government of Canada’s activities to honour Canada’s 150th anniversary of Confederation. These investments will help create jobs, boost economic activity, strengthen communities and celebrate Canada’s rich heritage and history. CIP 150 is administered by ACOA in the Atlantic region.
