OREANDA-NEWS. The first special ambulance based on the all-wheel drive KAMAZ chassis designed for operation in northern climatic conditions was delivered to the Magadan Sea Port.

The idea to ??create such a vehicle was voiced by Vladimir Pechyony, Governor of the Magadan Region, at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin who supported it. In response to the demand emerged, within a short period of time a new transport type was developed for particularly complex natural and climatic conditions and impassability. The all-wheel drive chassis KAMAZ-43502 is the reliable, off-road basis of the vehicle. The spacious van of the ambulance was manufactured by one of the special machinery factories.

The superstructure is made of sandwich panels, which allows you to keep the heat inside even at minus 55 degrees Celsius. There are two compartments in the van of the ambulance, each with a separate heater for the driver's cab and the crew. There is a room for two bedridden patients, and there are three additional seats for sitting cases or accompanying passengers. The vehicle is equipped with an elevator for handbarrows and other advanced equipment. There are video cameras installed to communicate with the driver.

Such an "ambulance" allows you to help patients in an autonomous mode, which is another undeniable advantage of special equipment along with high off-road abilities. The vehicle features its own water supply system. If the engine isn't running, the ambulance will be powered by a backup supply for 16 hours.

"The medical equipment of the vehicle corresponds to the standard, it has everything necessary for a patient's life support, including oxygen cylinders and a defibrillator," said Nikolay Zhechev, Deputy General Director of the Magadan auto center of KAMAZ. He also stressed that the vehicle showed increased cross-country ability. This is important for the delivery of patients from remote areas of the region where the height of snowdrifts can reach one meter or more.

Now the vehicle is sent to the service center KAMAZ where all systems will be checked once again. Later it will pass a test drive on the Kolyma track - it will be tested in the northern conditions. After the performance of all systems and medical equipment is evaluated, the vehicle will be put into operation.
