OREANDA-NEWS  Today, July 12, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the draft Law of Ukraine "On ratification of the Agreement between Ukraine and the European Police Office on Operational and Strategic Cooperation". The draft document was developed by the National Police of Ukraine. 234 people's deputies voted to support.

Introducing the bill in the Verkhovna Rada, Deputy Interior Minister Vadym Troyan noted that it would significantly extend the format of cooperation between Ukraine and Europol.

"The draft law will enable us to exchange operational information within the framework of criminal proceedings, to participate in joint investigations into a much wider range of crimes", Vadym Troyan said.

According to him, ratification of the Agreement will also allow the National Police to locate persons involved in the commission of crimes, to take part in the analysis of information update and to create joint international investigation teams.

It should be noted that Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov signed the Agreement on Strategic and Operational Cooperation with Europol on December 14, 2016.
