OREANDA-NEWS. In November, the number of unique AliExpress users in Russia reached 24.9 million people a month, which is 30% higher than the same indicator last year, follows from the company’s data, presented to the Russian media. At the same time, from April to November 2019, this figure increased by 33% (from 18.6 million people).

Accelerating audience growth was the result of connecting Mail.ru Group advertising tools to AliExpress and the influence of social e-commerce (trading through social networks), said Dmitry Sergeev, CEO of AliExpress Russia. In addition, according to him, local sellers began to enjoy great demand, which already accounted for 15% of total sales on the site. “The strength lies in combining the resources and competencies of our shareholders and partners, which form a joint venture”, Sergeyev said through a representative.

The Chinese Alibaba Group, Mail.ru Group, MegaFon and the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) closed the deal on establishing a joint venture in the field of electronic commerce AliExpress Russia in October 2019.
